Teaching & Learning

CHES offers an innovative hy-flex teaching model that combines face-to-face, online, and hybrid learning to ensure flexible access for all students regardless of location. Our programs accelerate access to university-level subjects, extend and deepen learning, and empower students to take ownership of their education. We collaborate with universities to provide authentic tertiary learning experiences, including on-campus excursions and seminar days and masterclasses at CHES.

We focus on developing lifelong capabilities such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, algorithmic thinking, research skills, academic literacy, high-level mathematics, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Our teaching framework is grounded in the Victorian Teaching & Learning Model 2.0, hy-flex instruction principles, and the High Ability Teaching Toolkit.

CHES is located on the lands of the Wurundjeri People and we wish to acknowledge them as Traditional Owners. Our school community pays respects to their Elders, past, and present and extends this respect to Aboriginal Elders of other communities. CHES respectfully acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Victoria and pays respect to the ongoing living cultures of First Peoples.
